Transnomadica is a curated fashion archive and creative label that explores the uses of excess, obsolete and leftover goods. Its motto is “one of a kind, one at a time”.
With an ethos of creation rooted in honoring tradition and craftsmanship, reflecting Madre’s own, we were immediately drawn to a collaboration with Transnomadica Founder, Maurizio Donadi.
The resulting collection includes 42 pieces, each one of a kind, created one at a time. Utilizing upcycled sweatshirts in a range of conditions, colors and brands, each one hand mended in a way that honors the lives they’ve had so far. Across the front individual canvas letters “M-A-D-R-E” are cut from leftover textiles. The collection is available online.
Stepping into his archive and hearing Maurizio speak about the archive, what inspires him, and his collaboration with Madre, it’s easy to understand why we brought a camera with us.
